Qwanell Mosley, aka Que, is the youngest, most handsome and sexiest male vocalist formerly of the group Day26. He is one of the original five males handpicked by P Diddy at the end of MTV’s Reality Show Making the Band 4 Season 1. Now a solo artist, Que released his new single “Shake Dat” on February 23, premiering with Angie Ange of 93.9 WKYS FM Radio. March 23 this too hot artist will release his solo debut mixtape “Q Files” exclusively hosted by DC’s own DJ Quicksilver.
I recently sat down and dished the dirt with Que, who shared insight and perspective on his new solo career. Que also squelched many of the rumors surrounding the Day26 controversy.
Que on Day26…
When asked his thoughts about the Day26 controversy, Que said, “Business excuses and money problems stopped the move to Virginia. It became my responsibility to make my household work.” As a new solo artist, Que supports his family, which includes his mother, Nicole, and his two younger sisters.
Que on MTV’s Reality Show Making the Band Season 3…
When asked how he felt about Season 3 of the reality show, Que said “I kind of feel a victim of MTV. I am now working on a new reality show with MTV to show my fans that I am working hard to make it happen just like everyone else out there.”
Que on his Music…
When asked how he felt about his upcoming release of the “Q Files”, Que said “I know I make good music. I have a new sound with a message and an opinion. I’m being all Que. The new single “Shake Dat” is a salute to the girls. When I hit the stage, they’ll feel me when they see me!”
Que on his love Dawn…
I asked Que about his relationship with Dawn Richards, formerly of the group Danity Kane. Que spilled, “I am in love with Dawn. She teaches me. We pray together. We know everything about each other.” His management acknowledged he writes about Dawn in his lyrics.
Que on Spirituality…
Que openly shared his spiritual growth over the last year. Que said “I’m so thankful for all the trials God put me through. Now I understand and have appreciation. I believe in the Lord.”
So now you know what’s new about Que! Look for the release of his solo debut mixtape “Q Files” on March 23. Que’s new management, Cliff Jones of Soul World Entertainment, expects big things from him. After a late night listening session at Soul World studios, I can tell you - “Q Files” makes you want to jump out of your seat and hit the dance floor! The songs "Cupid" and "Positive Energy" are off the chart! After my visit with Que and the Soul World team (sorry folks, I can’t disclose the location), I can you tell they are a really cool family.
Stay tuned for my official article on Que. For those who don’t read the AFRO, please do!
Lots of Love,
