BY ANY GREENS NECESSARY: EAT YOUR GREENS AND LIVE DISEASE FREE

Originally inspired by Dick Gregory’s speech at Amherst College, this author has been a vegan for over 20 years. This past Sunday, while wearing a Calvin Klein, white flowing, A-line dress with an empire waist, this fashionably tall, lean woman discussed the importance of making dark leafy greens half your plate at every meal. A “perfect health” veganista, she recently presented her book at the home of Cheryl A. Lofton in Silver Spring, Maryland, and took time to share with me the secret of women living a fabulous and healthy, long life. Tracye Lynn McQuirter, M.P.H., recently released her new book, “By Any Greens Necessary”, a nutritional collection of life-changing knowledge and great vegan recipes to help black women eat great, get healthy, lose weight, and look “PHAT”! “Any woman over 40 can live a long healthy disease free life by eating plant-based foods”, said McQuirter. The vegan dishes prepared for the Lofton event were created by Shantam's Kitchen.
In May, McQuirter launched her new book at BusBoys and Poets, selling over 100 copies; to date the eclectic restaurant and book store has placed their 3rd order from her publisher. An exercise enthusiast, McQuirter attributes her lean body and great health to a vegan diet and 5 day a week regimen of aerobic exercise, strength training, and yoga. Also a fashionista, McQuirter shops at a variety of stores, and shared that her silver and lucite bauble necklace, earrings and silver bangles were purchased at Macy’s. This smart veganista/fashionista also sported silver heels by the fun on-the-go brand Mootsies Tootsies during the Lofton event, then later switched to silver and rhinestone flats after the fanfare culminated with several new book sales and fans.
