 What an awesome day at Evangel Cathedral this past Saturday! I was blessed to see "The Bride" production and interview Fred Hammond, featured gospel male artist in the performance, legendary gospel great, anointed man of God. "The Bride" is a FABULOUS stage play produced by Evangel Cathedral. The production brings together great music, song, dance, acting, and set design, all to tell the story about the growth, maturity, and marriage of the bride of Christ. I spent the afternoon enjoying the musical production and learning more about Fred Hammond. I made Fred hot tea (twice - lol), interviewed him for the Afro American Newspaper, listened to the new music Fred will release this fall, a CD of love songs, and shared my thoughts with a focus group of friends. Over the course of the day, I served Fred a specific hot tea, Organic Throat Coat tea with 2 honey packets, he graciously accepted my service. I spent time talking with Fred about "why God", his relationship through prayer, and the power of the gifts of the Spirit. Fred's responses were genuine and thought provoking. He says God chose him to choose God. When he found out he could sing, Fred chose to use his gifts of singing and writing to be an effective witness and tell the story of Christ and salvation. As a man with an intimate prayer life, Fred not only speaks to God in his heavenly language, but he communicates constantly with God at any moment and any time, and God speaks back, at any moment, any time. In regards to the new generation of believers, Fred urges those who discern the gifts to seek them. As a minstrel and psalmist, Fred says "the gifts are alive and well in Christ". That's all I can share for now, I am overwhelmed with delight about the new music Fred shared with my friends and me on Saturday afternoon. Fred has a kind heart and is a man pure in the Spirit of God. I wish him blessings as he moves forth in the work God has planned for him. My new friend, Fred Hammond.
